Training

Our training program at Head Office is designed to check competencies and build confidence. The Carer undergoes evaluation testing to check proficiency levels and then receives training in paperwork requirements and specific Cleeve Link operating methods.

Once this is achieved, the process of carefully matching the Carer’s qualifications, temperament and personal attributes with the client’s needs begins.  While the 3 month induction continues, new Carers work alongside an experienced senior Carer to build knowledge and experience.  Most importantly, this method allows Carer and Client to get to know each other; building trust in advance.  Clients can be relaxed knowing that they will not be faced with a stranger looking after their needs and Carers become more confident, ready to take charge after the 3 month induction period.  Together, induction and ongoing training ensures that we offer the very best service and our Carers become and stay competent and happy in their job.

Training with Sue

"I am responsible for the induction of all new staff providing an extensive programme covering manual handling, personal hygiene, food preparation and infection control. Our students are trained to an exceptionally high standard ensuring they are fully competent in their roles as carers.

I have been a Registered General Nurse (RGN) since 1986 working mainly with elderly clients. My aim is to identify and satisfy staff training needs for all 170+ staff we have working in the local community. This is supported by my own on-going training where I am currently studying as a Dementia Link worker."
